Previously, the Brooklyn Nets signed forward player EJ Liddell with a two-way contract. With the completion of this signing, the Nets still have the last two-way contract place left on the current list. According to C.J. Holmes, a reporter from New York Daily News, in addition to Chinese player Zeng Fanbo, another inside player who currently holds an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, is also a strong contender for this two-way contract, and it seems that the two players will likely compete fiercely for this place during training camp.

Nelson was born in March 2002 and is 23 years old. He is the undraft in this year's NBA draft. According to data from the joint trial physical test session before the draft, Nelson's bare feet were 208.3cm, his wingspan was 213.4cm, his standing height was 276.9cm, and his weight was 104.2kg. In the NCAA field in three seasons, Nelson made a total of 37 appearances for the University of Alabama, 34 of which were the starters, with averaging 25.5 minutes per game, averaging 11.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.2 blocks, and 1.8 turnovers and 2.6 fouls. His shooting percentage was 52.2%, a three-point shooting percentage of 25.8%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 66.7%. Nelson's performance last season was only average. He showed a certain scoring ability and he was able to provide some support on the defensive end. However, as a big five player, his performance has not improved at all, which also makes everyone very worried about his potential. It is reasonable for him to become a undraft.

In the previous NBA Summer League, Nelson played 5 times in total for the Nets, averaging 19.1 minutes per game, averaging 6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 1.4 turnovers and 4.2 fouls, shooting percentage of 57.9%, three-point shooting percentage of 28.6%, and free throw shooting percentage of 66.7%. Nelson's performance during the summer league can only be considered a sloppy. He actually played a lot, but he did not show off his outstanding talents on both offense and defense. It is also because his performance during the summer league was not particularly outstanding, and the Nets were unable to provide him with a two-way contract.

However, it is worth mentioning that Nelson's draft market before the 2023 NBA Draft was once quite good, and it was even considered that everyone had the opportunity to launch an attack on the first round signing. However, in the end, Nelson decided to withdraw from the NBA draft that year and chose to transfer to the University of Alabama. As it turns out, Nelson's choice was completely wrong. To some extent, his decision to join the University of Alabama directly led to him becoming a undrafter. I don’t know whether Nelson will become the winner or loser in the competition with Zeng Fanbo next.
