Tenhach worked in Germany from 2013 to 2015, serving as the head coach of Bayern Munich's second team (the first team coach was Guardiola at the time). He tends to go to the Bundesliga or return to England to coach. Ten Hach, 55, was fired in the 2024-25 season for the team's 14th place in the Premier League, when Manchester United won only four of the first 14 games in all competitions. Amorin then took over his place, with Tenghach passing an annual assessment at the end of last season and triggering a one-year contract extension option in the summer. In his first season, he led Manchester United to third place in the Premier League and won the League Cup, ending the club's six-year championship drought.

However, in his second season, Manchester United had underperformed domestically and European, out of the Champions League group stage and ranked eighth in the Premier League, the club's lowest ranking since 1990. However, they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final to finish the season with a trophy and qualify for the UEFA Cup. Prior to joining Manchester United, Tenhach coached Ajax for four and a half years, leading the team to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018-19 season, the first time Ajax has reached this stage since 1997, during which they defeated Real Madrid and Juventus.

Alonso led Leverkusen to win his first Bundesliga title with an unbeaten record and also won the German Cup, but lost to Atalanta in the UEFA Cup final. Currently, Leverkusen ranks second in the Bundesliga, 11 points behind champion Bayern Munich.
