It is reported that former Manchester United coach Ten Hach is one of the candidates for Leverkusen. Tenghach has been unemployed since being fired by Manchester United in October last year. However, they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final to finish the season with a trophy and qualify for the UEFA Cup. Prior to joining Manchester United, Tenhach coached Ajax for four and a half years, leading the team to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018-19 season, the first time Ajax has reached this stage since 1997, during which they defeated Real Madrid and Juventus.
Alonso led Leverkusen to win his first Bundesliga title with an unbeaten record and also won the German Cup, but lost to Atalanta in the UEFA Cup final. Currently, Leverkusen ranks second in the Bundesliga, 11 points behind champion Bayern Munich.
