South Korean women’s table tennis ace Shin Yu-bin, ranked 14th in the world, will challenge the world’s top players from China and Japan in the championship, a senior event of the World Table Tennis Professional League (WTT) series.

Shin Yu-bin will participate in the WTT Championship Montpellier Station (October 28-November 2) and WTT Championship Frankfurt Station (November 4-9) held one week apart in France and Germany. Korean media reported that for Shin Yu-bin, who became the first Korean female table tennis player to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam event at the WTT China Grand Slam earlier this month, this is an opportunity to compete with the top ten players in the world again.
Both events only have men's and women's singles competitions, and top players from China and Japan will participate. In the Montpellier competition, the world's third-ranked Chen Xingtong, fourth-ranked Kuai Man, fifth-ranked Wang Yidi, sixth-ranked Zhu Yuling, eighth-ranked Chen Yi (the above are Chinese players), as well as Japanese aces Miwa Harimoto (7th), Mima Ito (9th), and Sayuki Oto (10th) will all compete. For Shin Yu-bin, who is ranked 13th in the world, he must break into higher rounds as much as possible in order to improve his world ranking. In the Chinese Grand Slam, she defeated Kuai Man 3-2 in the round of 16, but lost 1-4 to China's world No. 2 Wang Manyu in the semifinals.

Shen Yubin will face Monaco's 37-year-old veteran Yang Xiaoxin in the top 32 of the women's singles on October 30, local time. In addition to Shin Yu-bin, South Korean players participating in the Montpellier station include Zhu Qianxi, Kim Na-young, and Lee Eun-hye (female players above), as well as men’s team aces Jang Woo-jin, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Oh Jung-sung.
After finishing the WTT Championship Montpellier Station, Shin Yubin will move to Germany and compete for the championship in the Frankfurt Championship Frankfurt Station with Japanese players such as Miwa Harimoto, Mima Ito, Oto Satsuki, Hina Hayada (World No. 14), Bruna Takahashi (Brazil, No. 18), Bernadette Szokos (Romania, No. 19), Adriana Diaz (Puerto Rico, No. 20).
As the WTT series enters a fierce stage, the top stars in the table tennis world are gearing up for two consecutive tournaments-the 2025 WTT Championship Montpellier and the WTT Championship Frankfurt. These two events are crucial for competing for promotion points for the 2025 WTT Finals Hong Kong Station. Shin Yubin has not yet qualified for the women's singles competition in the 2025 WTT Finals Hong Kong. After these two races, Shin Yubin will prepare for the Mixed Team World Cup to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China from November 30 to December 7.
