Hupu, August 22, Inter Milan officially announced that 22-year-old French midfielder Andy Diouf officially joined the team. The 2003-born player came from Lens to Meacha Stadium in a permanent transfer to open a new chapter in his career.
On May 17, 2003, Diouf was born in Neuil, France. His father is from Senegal and his mother is French. He grew up in the suburbs of Paris and had only one idea since childhood - to carry football with him and treat it as a loyal partner. His father is the source of the whole family's enthusiasm for football. He encouraged Andy and his brothers Jules and Valli to pursue their dreams bravely. Now all three of them have embarked on the road of football. At the age of 6, Diouf started his own adventure and joined the Garena Cologbe Youth Team. This experience allowed him to get in touch with the Paris youth training environment very early. In 2012, he switched to Paris Saint-Germain and grew up quickly, polishing himself in various international competitions. Three years later, he transferred to Boulogne Biyancou, while attending the famous French Clay Fontaine youth training camp. In 2018, he joined Rennes, performed well in the youth training echelon and gradually stood out.
On August 16, 2020, he made his first appearance against Inter Milan in the European Youth League's top 16 matches. On May 6, 2021, he made his debut in Ligue 1, and his opponent was his old club Paris Saint-Germain. Due to limited opportunities in Rennes, Diouf joined Basel on loan in the 2021/22 season, playing in 57 games and scoring 3 goals, all from the European Cup, including the semi-finals scored at home in Fiorentina. With his outstanding performance, he was awarded the Best Young Player of the 2022/23 European Association Cup.
In the summer of 2023, Diouf joined Lons, playing in 68 games in two seasons, scoring 2 goals, and making his first Champions League appearance in the 2023/24 season, against Sevilla and Arsenal.
Diuf is a strong and energetic midfielder who is good at pushing balls and dribbling, able to cover multiple areas of the midfield, and is a representative of modern midfielders. He has represented all levels of French youth teams and won silver medals with the French team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Now, the 22-year-old Diouf ushers in a new chapter in his career as the 27th French player in Inter Milan's history. His story has just begun.
