Hupu, August 22, Bayern Munich loan player Daniel Peretz will serve as Hamburg's No. 2 goalkeeper at the beginning of the season. Hamburg coach Merlin Porzin announced the news on Friday local time.
Peretz will not start this season's Bundesliga as the main goalkeeper of Hamburg, and the goalkeeper will have to be behind Daniel Hall Fernandez. "Fernandez will start on Sunday. In other words: he will start the new season as the No. 1 goalkeeper and play for us," coach Porzin said on Friday.
Fernandez "bred a great sense of security to the team; he has a lot of experience in the club. He is a very important factor in the team. The same is true for Daniel Peretz, because we said we wanted to create a competitive situation, and we can see this competitive situation every day. Daniel is a member of our leadership team, leading the trend and always striving to improve."
Peretz has been loaned to Hamburg by Bayern Munich since July this year. His loan contract expires next summer. His contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2028. Hamburg will start its new Bundesliga season at Mönchengladbach this Sunday.
