October 16th: During the meeting of the Federal Council, Italian Football Federation President Gravina accepted media interviews and answered questions about the prospects of the Italian national team in the World Cup.
Is there a World Cup craze in the world now? How does it feel to see Italy still fighting for promotion while Cape Verde has already qualified?
Gravina: "This is a different competition system, and FIFA needs to find a balance at the global level. Six of the 10 South American teams can qualify for the World Cup, with a participation rate of 60%, but the qualification ratio for the highest level of European football in the world is completely different. We don't want to be negative. Pessimistic thoughts, this can only have a negative impact. I watched the players train hard and I was with them from the first minute of the training until they left the Coverciano training base, as the coach asked, we are united and this is the common goal of the national fans."
