Mancini continues to make money in the Middle East

11:34am, 13 November 2025Football

Mancini once again chose the Middle East as his next coaching stop. After leaving the Saudi national team, the European Cup-winning coach accepted an invitation from Qatari giants Al Sadd.

Alsad is eager to return to its former glory days. They have won 18 league championships and 2 AFC Champions League titles, but the last time they won the continental championship was in 2011. Now Al Sadd needs a coach with international vision and competition experience to revive the team. Mancini has coached Inter Milan, Manchester City, Galatasaray and the Italian team and meets the club's selection criteria.

According to the plan, Mancini will go to Doha this week to sign a contract until May 2026. He will lead the team to participate in the AFC Champions League against Al Wahda on November 24, completing his debut with the new club. In the AFC Champions League Elite League, Al Sadd is currently performing poorly, with only 2 points after 4 rounds, ranking third from the bottom. The club management hopes that Mancini's arrival can help the team regain confidence and regain its winning state.

Mancini was a little hesitant at first. He was waiting for invitations from European teams and even the Italian Football Association, but he did not receive a satisfactory offer. After Al Sadd waited patiently, he finally decided to accept the job. After signing for a new club, Mancini returned to the Gulf just months after leaving Saudi Arabia. He understands the environment, the pressure and the ambition of the club. Al Sadd does not need an apprentice, but a champion. Although he no longer coaches Europe's top teams, Mancini is still considered a world-famous coach, reflecting Qatari football's ambition to restore its glory.
