Mattus: Tenghager s lightning is not only due to his grades, but also his way of treating the players

But Leverkusen should know that—not just that. That’s why the misunderstandings arise,” the RTL expert concluded.

Before joining Leverkusen, Tenghager coached Manchester United from 2022 to 2024. Despite the numerous transfer fees, the coach's performance at Old Trafford was not ideal, and Manchester United did not play any role in the Premier League title battle under him.

Mattus said that what Leverkusen needs now is "Alonso II", referring to the successful era of Xavi Alonso who joined Real Madrid. Led by Alonso, Leverkusen won the double championship in the 2023/24 season and won the runner-up last year.
