Zhekelais transfer is close to being reached, and the agent pays out of his own pocket to give up commissions and join Arsenal

According to the famous transfer reporter Romano, Portugal Sports' 27-year-old Swedish striker Tzekelish is very close to joining Arsenal. The transfer fee will be 63.5 million euros plus 10 million euros floating clauses. He may sign with Arsenal as soon as this Friday to catch up with Arsenal's next Asian tour. Zhekelais' attitude played a huge role in this transfer. In order to join Arsenal, Zhekelais not only chose to break up with Portugal Sports, but also gave up his salary of 2 million euros and even forced his agent to give up the transfer commission of about 7 million euros! It’s really “there is an old method of backward paying, but the current method of backward paying”!

Zhekelais' transfer negotiations continued from early June to mid-July. Arsenal coveted the tall center forward who made 102 appearances in Portugal Sports and scored 97 goals and contributed 28 assists, and regarded him as the number one target for upgrading the center position to sign up! Zhekelais is also very concerned about returning to the Premier League and joining a team that has the strength to compete for the Champions League and Premier League championships. Both sides can be said to be "a man with love and a man with intention", and hit it off. However, the sky-high "bride price" demand proposed by Portugal Sports to Arsenal has become the biggest obstacle to the two being together.

For a club that aims to train players to sell at a high price, Portugal Sports has never had anything to sell. If there is, it is just that your bid is not high enough. Zhekelais is currently worth 75 million euros, and his contract with Portugal Sports will expire at the end of June 2028. Portugal Sports' asking price for Zhekelais reached 100 million euros. If we only look at Zhekelais' data and performance in the Portuguese Super League and Champions League in the past two seasons, he is fully worthy of 100 million euros transfer fee, but considering that he is 27 years old and has had unsuccessful experiences during his previous play in Brighton, the Premier League. Therefore, although there are many clubs that pay attention to Zhekelais, only one of the real offers is Arsenal, which urgently needs to make up for the shortcomings in the center position.

However, there is a huge gap between Arsenal's offer and Portugal Sports' asking price, which has led to the transfer negotiations being deadlocked many times and almost broken. It is Zhekelais' strong desire to transfer and has been pushing the negotiations. Zhekelais first revealed that Portugal Sports Club chairman Valandas once had a gentleman agreement with him that as long as the team offers a fixed transfer fee of 60 million euros plus a floating clause of 10 million euros, he can transfer. But Valandas denied the existence of the gentleman agreement and said that the club would not sell Zhekelais for less than 80 million euros. Zhekelais was so angry that he not only deleted all the information about Portuguese sports clubs on his personal social media, but also said that he would not play for the team in the future.

In early July, Arsenal sent a transfer representative to Lisbon to conduct final negotiations with Portugal Sports on the transfer of Zhekelais, and issued a quotation of 65 million euros fixed transfer fee plus 15 million euros floating clause, but it was still rejected by Valandas. Portugal Sports' asking price was 70 million euros fixed transfer fee plus 10 million euros floating clause. Arsenal representative flew back to London in anger. Zhekelais was furious about this and reiterated that he would not play for Portugal sports again, and refused the team's request to recruit him to the team for training. Portugal Sports also said that if Zhekelais does not return to the team, then spend the next season on the bench and don’t think about going anywhere.

In the end, Dzekelish chose to surrender. First, he gave up some of the salary and bonus that Portugal Sports should pay him, totaling about 2 million euros; secondly, he asked his agent to make sure to facilitate this transfer, even if he did not charge a cent transfer commission, otherwise he would be replaced. In the end, it was with the help of Zhekelais's agent that Arsenal and Portuguese Sports finally reached a preliminary agreement on Zhekelais' transfer.

Arsenal quoted Portugal Sports for 73.5 million euros to buy Dzekeles, of which 63.5 million euros were fixed transfer fees and 10 million euros were additional terms. This offer was even lower than Arsenal's previous offer, but Portugal Sports accepted it. Why is this? Because Portugal Sports had previously asked for 80 million euros, of which 70 million euros were fixed transfer fees and 10 million euros were surcharges, but 10% of the fixed transfer fees of 70 million euros would need to be paid as a transfer commission to Zhekelais's agent. Without considering taxes and fees, Portugal Sports got 63 million euros fixed transfer fees and 10 million euros surcharges.

Now, although Arsenal's offer is only 73.5 million euros, of which 63.5 million euros are paid in full to Portugal Sports. Zhekelais's agent gave up 10% of the transfer commission of up to 7 million euros. Together with the 2 million euros bonus that Zhekelais gave up, Portugal Sports actually got 65.5 million euros fixed transfer fee plus 10 million euros floating terms, which is even 2.5 million euros higher than their previous asking price. Even so, Portugal Sports is still bargaining with Arsenal for the fulfillment of the 10 million euro floating clause, but the transfer is basically gone.

It is reported that Arsenal will provide Zhekelais with a 5-year contract with an annual salary of 8 million euros after tax. His current annual salary in Portugal Sports is only 2.5 million euros, which has increased by more than three times. It is not difficult to understand why Zhekelais is willing to give up the 2 million euro bonus in order to facilitate the transfer. His agent did not get nothing. Although he gave up the 7 million euro transfer commission for Portugal Sports, Arsenal will pay him a transfer commission of about millions of euros as compensation. For Arsenal, although it bears the commission that should have been borne by the seller, the total transfer fee has dropped from 80 million euros to 73.5 million euros, and no new expenditure has been added.

Zhekelais' transfer has been twists and turns, and it is even almost gone, but now it is finally another village of light. It is expected that Arsenal will officially announce the news of Zhekelais' joining in the past two or three days. Looking back, Fabregas left Arsenal without hesitation to pay the transfer fee in order to join Barcelona. Now, some players are finally going to join Arsenal. It’s really a turnaround. I’m here this year!
