Winning the Mediterranean Excellence Award! Mourinho: Maybe I don’t deserve the award, but it represents my connection with Roma

October 20th Benfica head coach Mourinho delivered an acceptance speech through a video message after receiving Italy’s “Mediterranean Excellence Award”. He looked back fondly on his time at Roma and expressed his gratitude to the club and its fans.

How do you feel after receiving the "Mediterranean Excellence Award"?

I don't think I deserve this award, but it's always an honor to receive it. I am sincerely grateful for this recognition, and again, I may not deserve it, but the connection it represents with Roma and with Roma fans will always be a source of pride for me during these two and a half wonderful years of my life and career. Thank you so much.

The award's citation reads: "This award honors an extraordinary career, enhanced by 26 international trophies, and a personal and professional path that also left a deep mark on Italian football."
