Everton Official Announcement:
Everton Football Club is proud to announce that Goodison Park Stadium will become the permanent home court of the Everton Women's Football Team. This first dedicated football stadium in England will be transformed into the most iconic field in the Women's Super League.
This decision stems from an in-depth assessment of the Goodison Heritage Project by the Friedkin Group since its takeover in December last year. The project was launched in 2020 and aims to plan the future of Goodison Stadium. After a comprehensive review, the Friedkin Group determined that football must continue to be the core of the Everton community.
When the men's football team moves to the new stadium, the Everton women's football team will officially enter Goodison from the 25/26 season. This move is designed to meet the rapid development needs of Everton women's football team, which provides a larger and more suitable playing field environment than Walton Hall Park.
's entry into Goodison will include gradually upgraded supporting facilities to ensure that all infrastructure is in place before the start of the season. The relocation plan will also create economic benefits for local businesses through game day flows.
Goodison will continue to be the core landmark of Liverpool's sports and cultural identity. In addition to hosting the Everton Women's Football Championships, a selected youth training college event will be held here and the L4 campus of the Everton Community Project will be expanded.
Walton Hall Park Stadium will continue to serve the grassroots, community and development programs of women's football and youth training.
Friedkin Group's commitment to the women's football team has been demonstrated through recent investments in players and staff. The club is ambitious to build a team with the ability to compete for the championship, relying on world-class facilities and a world-renowned home court as a solid backing.
