The 2026 US-Canada-Mexico World Cup Group Lottery Ceremony is scheduled for December

In the early morning of August 23, FIFA announced that the 2026 US-Canada-Mexico World Cup group draw ceremony will be held at the Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, DC, USA on December 5 local time.

FIFA President Infantino said that group draws are an important "milestone" in the preparations for football competitions. FIFA welcomes representatives of participating teams, sponsors, global media and fans from 16 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico to participate in this event.

According to reports, the lottery ceremony will start at 12:00 local time on December 5, and more process details will be released in succession.

The record 48 teams will participate in the US, Canada and Mexico World Cup, and they will be divided into 12 groups, each with 4 teams. FIFA has confirmed the signing of three host teams, Mexico will be in A1, Canada will be in B1 and the United States will be in D1.

FIFA said in a press release that 42 of the 48 participating teams in the US, Canada and Mexico World Cup finals will be confirmed at the beginning of the draw ceremony, and the last 6 places will be announced in the playoffs held in March next year.

According to previous arrangements, the first game of the US, Canada and Mexico World Cup will be held on June 11, 2026, at the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City.
