Shanxi Football Association Super League unveiled

This newspaper (reporter Yang Erxin) On May 18, the 2025 Shanxi Football Association Super League kicked off at the Shanxi Football Training Base. In this competition, a total of 16 men's football teams and 10 women's football teams from all over the province participated.

In 2017, the Shanxi Football Association "decoupled" from the Shanxi Provincial Sports Bureau, and then founded the Shanxi Provincial Football Association Cup and the Super League and the First Division, marking a substantial step in football reform in our province.

This year's Super League lasts for two months, with a total of 26 teams from Taiyuan, Datong, Changzhi and other cities participating. Among them, men formed 16 participating teams and women formed 10 participating teams. Each team first plays a group stage and then produces a championship through a cross-elimination match.

26 participating teams, from social football clubs, enterprises and schools in various cities across the province, demonstrated their extensive participation in this event. In the previous 8 Super Leagues, the team from Taiyuan City won 7 championships and the Datong team won 1 championship.

Last season, the Shanxi Football Association Super League designed and released the event trophy - the "West and Inside, Mountains and Rivers" Cup. After defeating Linfen team 3-1, Taiyuan Technological Yi Da Men became the first team to win the "West and Forest" Cup.
