Brighton's official website announced on July 2 that Brazilian striker Joao Pedro will transfer to Chelsea, and the specific transfer fee figures have not been announced.
The Brazil international joined in the summer of 2023, making 70 appearances for Brighton and scoring 30 goals.
Brighton coach Herceler: "This is a good transfer for all parties. It is an excellent deal for the club. We have invested heavily in the front line and are now well rewarded. The competition is fierce and we have a sufficient talent pool on the offensive end. It is also an exciting step for Joao Pedro: he will get the chance to compete in the Champions League next season, and of course, he is eager to consolidate his position in Brazil before the World Cup next summer. He has brought us many wonderful moments, both during my tenure and before I come to the club. Therefore, on behalf of everyone, I would like to thank him for his efforts in the past two seasons and wish him all the best in the future."
