Will the Rockets have the ability to be the best team in the league next season?

After years of construction and offseason god-level operations, the Houston Rockets are finally ready to compete for the championship. Their growth of young players and the addition of excellent veterans add to their competitive prospects into next season.
While the Rockets are expected to be one of the best teams in the league, few people think that the Rockets are a team that can be the best team in the league, and the Rockets may have some chances to prove that they can play that level. The Rockets have all the necessary parts, filled by the players already on the roster. They have Kevin Durant's elite key scorer, Fred VanVleet's on-field commander, and Alperen Shinkyung and Amen Thompson's talented new stars. Jabbarry Smith Jr. is an excellent young man, and Tari Ethan is a defensive defender that opponents attacking players hate. Dorian Finney-Smith and Steven Adams are both excellent veterans who provide unique skills to contribute to the overall success of the team.
The combination of their main rotation players is reasonable and deep, and can make contributions from any position in the lineup. They are not far from teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder, which has an average age much younger than the Rockets, and Durant no longer competes for MVP at this stage of his career, but he remains the top scorer in the league and an influential defender.
If Amen and Shin Kyung show significant improvements next season, while other young players make a slight improvement, the Rockets can be the best team in the league.
Smith's improvement in three-point shooting would be a major victory for the Rockets, and so did Ethan. Amen and Shin Kyung will have to take a heavy burden on every game, and the Rockets are based on relying on their contributions to offense and defensiveness. The Rockets are already at the top of their defense and rebounding levels, two elements that are crucial for a team that wants to compete for the championship. Improvements in shooting and key scores could make the Rockets the NBA's top team.
However, it is unlikely that the Rockets will maintain this level throughout the season. Considering the veterans need to rest and the growing worries that players like Amen Thompson may face, there is a very likely calm period that makes the Rockets perform differently from the image they hope to present in the playoffs. The Rockets don't need to be the best team in the league in the regular season to win the championship next year. They just have to make sure they play the right basketball near the end of the season.
