The new era MVP behemoth, Embiid, who is in doubt!

On March 16, 1994, Joel Embiid was born in Yaounde, Cameroon. His father was a soldier. For Embiid in his childhood, he had no dream of becoming a professional basketball player. Embiid in his childhood originally loved volleyball and football. Even though he had outstanding height conditions among his peers at that time, he was still determined to become a professional volleyball player.
Until the age of 16, by chance, he participated in a basketball training camp organized by former NBA player Bamot. At this point, the big man began to become interested in basketball and gave up other projects and chose basketball.
So, Embiid, who was only 16 years old, went to the United States alone and embarked on a strange but extremely challenging road.
When he was in high school, Embiid studied at Montward College in Florida. Since he first arrived in the United States, he couldn't even speak a word of English, and the difficulty of adapting to different environments also made him feel a lot of pressure. But even so, his talent on the court is still unconcealable. His flexibility and soft feel that is incompatible with his huge body shape also make him a popular newcomer in the eyes of NBA scouts.
Then, he chose to transfer to Rock Dance School, and helped the team win the interstate championship with averaging 13 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. He was then selected as a five-star high school student by the United States and finally chose to join the University of Kansas to continue his studies.
Time came to 2013, and Embiid became the core of the University of Kansas. Although he only played in college for a year, it was enough for fans to see his potential.
Although he has been systematically trained in basketball for less than four years, he is already an unstoppable modern behemoth on the college field. During his time at Kansas, Embiid played 28 games, averaging 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. He was once known as the offensive center with Olajuwon style. Under his strong defense, he also has flexible steps and good shooting feel. He was successfully selected as the Big12 Best Defensive Player and Best Rookie.
Behind the seemingly glorious, as the season approaches, Embiid's health problems begin to emerge. A stress fracture in his back directly led to his missing of the NCAA Championship, which also seemed to herald the key issues he would face in his future career.
At the 2014 NBA Draft, although the potential for back injury caused him to face many doubts, Embiid still relied on his outstanding talent to be selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the Tanhua ranking. On the night of the election, Embiid called his parents to report the good news with tears in his eyes. But this joy did not last long. He underwent right foot surgery shortly after entering the league, which directly led to his reimbursement for the entire rookie season.
A year later, I thought he was about to come back, but I missed his second season again due to surgery.
Sequential season reimbursement, outside media began to question, worried that this talented man would step on the old path of Oden and would never be able to stand on the NBA again; and Embiid himself once fell into a depression trough. According to what he said in a later interview, during that time, he once became addicted to alcohol and was extremely depressed, and even thought about giving up basketball directly, but fortunately he persisted.
Time comes to the 2016-17 season, and Embiid finally makes his career debut. Although there are restrictions on playing time, he still delivered dominant data of 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 31 games, rekindling the hopeful gaze of Philadelphia fans and quickly becoming the core of the team.
Since then, Embiid's personal data has improved year by year, gradually moving towards the ranks of top centers in the league. He won the season scoring champion in 2022 and 2023, and won the regular season MVP in 2022-23 with an average of 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
Compared with the previous inside scoring gate, Embiid's advantage lies not only in his offense, but also in the defensive center on the court; he can not only take on the frame defense in the penalty area, but also pull out and shoot three-pointers, finding the perfect balance between traditional and modern centers, and most importantly, he gradually evolved from a Glass man to a truly stable team core.
But even so, after winning the MVP, Embiid was unable to lead the 76ers to go further in the playoffs. In the next two seasons, Embiid played 39 and 19 games respectively due to injury, and also expressed his controversial remarks that he did not play back-to-back games once caused ridicule from many fans.
At the same time, Embiid has been criticized by fans for his frequent fouls, fake falls and other actions in recent years, and even his poor performance in the playoffs. He even won the MVP trophy with outstanding performance. In the eyes of most media, it is just because of Jokic's reputation for finding bargains after aesthetic fatigue in the judges.
The 76ers last season suffered a huge wave of injuries again. Many main players in the team missed most of the season due to injuries, which directly led to the team's only 24 wins and 58 losses in the East, and missed the playoffs as the thirteenth place in the division. As the core of the team, Embiid naturally finds it difficult to escape from fans' criticism.
76ers signed a high-couple potential newcomer at the third pick in the draft. In addition, the healthy return of the main players next season, the overall lineup rotation depth is sufficient. Combined with the problem of core injuries in multiple top teams in the division, Philadelphia still has a chance to do a big game next season, but the premise is that Embiid needs to get rid of his previous label.
Looking back at Embiid's career, although he encountered many injuries and external doubts, it is undeniable that as long as he can maintain his health, he will still be a center forward with stable dominance in the league. Perhaps his injury problems and some factors on and off the court have caused him to be questioned, but as long as he can play, he is a star scorer that his opponent cannot ignore..
It is undeniable that Embiid needs to break at this stage, but fortunately his career continues. As for the follow-up, I still hope that he can overcome the injury crisis and write his story again.
