According to European basketball media Basketnews reporter Donatas Urbanas, former NBA forward Tyler Cook is about to sign with a Japanese team, and he will also appear in the Japanese B League for the first time next season. However, it is still unknown which team Cook will join.

Cook was born in September 1997 and is not yet 28 years old. He is 203cm tall and weighs 113kg. He is the undraft in the 2019 NBA Draft. In the NBA, Cook has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Denver Nuggets, the Brooklyn Nets, the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls. In the NBA regular season, Cook has played 65 times in total, with averaging 10.6 minutes per game, averaging 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks, 0.5 turnovers and 1.1 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 65.4%, a three-point shooting percentage of 50%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 60%. The last time Cook appeared in the NBA arena dates back to April 2022, which has been more than three years since now. He has also been playing in the NBA Development League and overseas leagues in these seasons.

Cook played for the Turkish League team Belediyesi Denizli Basket this season. He played 24 times for the team, averaging 27.9 minutes per game, averaging 15 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks, and 2.1 turnovers and 2.2 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 63.3% and a free throw percentage of 56.6%. Cook's performance this season is quite good. He has also shown good scoring ability on the offensive end. He can create a considerable threat in the opponent's interior, and his offensive efficiency can also be maintained at a high level. Unfortunately, his team can only be regarded as a mid- and lower-level team in the Turkish League, and Cook's data is therefore less convincing.

Cook played for the Australian League NBL team Southeast Melbourne Phoenix last season. He once showed a pretty good level and was even elected as the NBL preseason MVP. His performance after the start of the season was also quite highlighted. It was just because of the impact of eye injuries and the return of injured Alan Williams, Cook had to be cut by the team. Cook's outstanding performance in the NBL field also proves one thing that he is capable of performing in the Asia-Pacific region. Considering that the level of the Japanese B League is also relatively average, Cook also has the opportunity to perform at the dominant level. I don’t know if Cook will have a chance to return to the NBA in the future.
