July 18th Spanish media Daily Sports reported that former Barcelona chief scout Paul Araujo transferred to Porto as scouting director, replacing Nelson Oliveira, who temporarily holds the position, who will continue to serve as the recruiting director of all professional teams.
Paul Araujo, who announced his departure from Barcelona only two weeks ago, accepted Boas' recruitment. Paul Araujo has been recognized for his resume working with Deco in Barcelona for the past three seasons.
In the in-depth restructuring led by Boas, Porto successfully defeated several Premier League clubs that were also interested in Paul Araujo.
Paul Araujo will go to Porto next week to start work. Porto's goal is to strengthen the lineup for next season, bringing in multiple heavyweight new players, including a central defender, a midfielder, a winger, a forward, and possibly a left back. The club’s intention is to complete these transfer operations before the preseason starts so that the new coaching team can work with the full squad.
Paul Araujo aims to implement a newer strategy similar to the model he has developed at Barcelona, focusing on professional teams and young talented players with potential, with the goal of keeping the club competitive in the present and in the future.
