3 years and 44 million renewal! Bucks GM: Portis has other options this summer but he wants to stay with the team

July 19th Bucks general manager Horst recently accepted an interview with the media and talked about renewing Portis in this offseason.
Horst said: "I don't want the team to have no Portis in any season, in any training, in any day. I think Portis embodies the essence of our team. He is a low dog (underdog, generally refers to the unpopular side in the game). He strives to compete and goes all out. In my opinion, no one cares more about this team than Portis."
"Potis has other choices, but he wants to stay here, he chose us."
In the offseason this year, Portis refused to execute the 13.4 million player option and re-signed a three-year, 44 million contract with the Bucks, with the 27-28 season as the player option.
Because of taking banned drugs, Portis was suspended for 25 games last season. He played 49 games in the regular season, averaging 25.3 minutes per game, scoring 13.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists, with shooting percentages of 46.6%, 36.5%, and 83.6% respectively in the three events.
Playoffs, Portis played 5 games, averaging 14 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per 31.6 minutes per game, with shooting percentage and three-point shooting percentages of 44.1% and 35.7% respectively.
