Difficult! The market is deserted + employment crisis, Westbrook may not have any ball to play

As the offseason comes to an end, the lineup construction of various NBA teams is gradually settled. However, former league superstar Russell Westbrook is still wandering on the road to job hunting, and his situation is a bit embarrassing.

According to Kings reporter Allen Stiles, except for the Sacramento Kings, "no team" in the league expressed interest in the former MVP.

Westbrook himself obviously does not want to end his career in this way, but the cruel reality is that if the King finally gives up signing, he may face the dilemma of no ball to play. After the Kings sent De Alon Fox away in February this year, the intention to transform the backcourt was obvious. Although they have signed Dennis Schroeder, Westbrook's impact and fast attack style are still favored by management.

However, whether the Kings can sign Westbrook depends largely on their progress in the sign-on and exchange negotiations with the Warriors. If the deal is successful, the King may cut Terrence Davis to free up the spot and provide Westbrook with a contract.

Forbes reporter Evan Sidery even revealed that the king's "dream" is to get both Kumingga and Westbrook.

But if the negotiations fail, Westbrook's situation will be even more difficult. The Thunder was once a possible destination for fans to look forward to, but "Sports Illustrated" Thunder reporter Rylan Stiles made it clear that the Thunder's 15-man roster is full, and the team's tactical system is "incompatible" with Westbrook's style, and the possibility of returning is almost zero.

Westbrook, who is about to turn 37, averaged 27.9 minutes per game while playing for the Nuggets last season, was able to contribute 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals, with a shooting percentage of 44.9%.

However, Westbrook's performance was unsatisfactory in the playoff series against the Thunder. He ended up only 17 assists in the entire series, but made 18 turnovers, four steals and 26 personal fouls. The Nuggets netted 92 points in his time playing, a large part of this is attributed to his effective hit percentage of just 40.2%.

Such performances discourage the championship team, and rebuilding the team is more inclined to train new players.

Now, Westbrook is at the crossroads of his career. The king was his last hope, but the initiative was not in his hands. If the Kumingga trade fails, the former superstar may be forced to accept a cruel fact: the NBA's door is closing to him.
