Lake Media: The Lakers have no intention of using James to exchange Butler and are not interested in James s sign-up transaction

On August 25, according to Lakers Daily, sources revealed that the Lakers are not interested in Warriors forwards Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Cumingga and will not consider them in a potential LeBron James deal.
Previously, Jake Fischer reported that the Warriors had contacted the Lakers many times to try to trade James. Since James has the right to veto the transaction in his contract, he must take the initiative to make a trade request to the Lakers before joining other teams such as the Warriors; so far, James has never applied for a trade from the Lakers, and he does not plan to do so.
40-year-old James' annual salary in the new season is $52.6 million, the Warriors Butler's annual salary is $54.1 million, and Cumingga is a restricted free agent (the Warriors gave him a quotation of $7.9 million in one year); theoretically, the Warriors and the Lakers can reach a sign-up deal involving Cumingga and James, but the Lakers are not interested in Cumingga, and James has not applied to leave the team.
The farce between the Warriors and Kumingga is still continuing. The Warriors only give Kumingga a one-year, $7.9 million qualification offer and a two-year, $45 million (team option and no trade veto rights), but Kumingga wants a player option and a larger contract.
Since 2018, James has played for the Lakers. He led the Lakers to the 17th championship in team history in 2020; all signs at present indicate that James will continue to stay with the Lakers in the new season and continue to join forces with Doncic to fight for the championship.
James will become a free agent tomorrow. If he does not retire after the end of the 2025-26 season, he can leave the Lakers next summer. So far in his Lakers' career, James averaged 26.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks per game.
