On May 2, Acaden Lewis was the best point guard in the 2025 class. He told ESPN that he had promised to join NCAA Villanova University.
Acaden Lewis also visited the University of St. John, Georgia and Miami, and on April 10 he announced his regret for the University of Kentucky and restarted his recruitment.
Lewis won the Gatorade Player of the Year in Washington, DC in 2024, attended Sidwell Friends in high school, and ranked seventh in the 2025 ESPN high school list. He is considered one of the best pick-and-roll players in this class. Last year, Nike EYBL ranked third in average 6.1 assists and was able to contribute 16.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game to the Team Durant Club in Maryland.

Lewis is an important addition to Villanova University. The Wildcats have previously received transfer students, including Long Beach State point guard Devin Askew, James Madison defender Bryce Lindsay, Temple defender Zion Stanford, Maryland Malachi Palmer, Grand Canyon forward Duke Brennan, Maryland forward Braden Pierce, and 2025 center Nico Onyekwere from Nigeria. Villanova also retains forward Matthew Hodge, a 2024 high school four-star player who has been forced to redshirt over the past season due to his academic failure, from Belgium.

Kevin Willard took over as head coach of Villanova on March 30 after a successful season at the University of Maryland where he replaced Kyle Neptune, who was fired after missing the NCAA Championship for three seasons in coaching the Wildcats.
