The latest Aston Villa transfer rumors: They are once again linked with Spanish international and striker Samu Aghova, who is now playing for Porto.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have now learned that if they want to take Spanish international Samu Aghova away in the summer's transfer window, any suitor will have to pay a fee of up to £85 million.

Last summer, Aghova was very close to transferring from Atletico Madrid (who retained 50% of the player's transfer rights) to Chelsea. But the deal, worth £34 million, finally fell through at the last moment of the transfer window. Afterwards, the forward turned to Porto, a giant in Portuguese superstar. In the past season, he has performed extremely well with his new club, scoring 27 goals in 45 appearances in various competitions.

The outstanding performance of this young man, who was only 21 years old, also won him the call for the Spanish national team. He made his national team debut last November and participated in the team's final stage of the National League this summer. However, it is still unknown where he will play football next season.

Aghova's status has attracted the attention of many clubs in mainland Europe. And Villa and Newcastle - both teams that will compete in the European game next year and hope to strengthen the roster in the summer window - have been linked with him. In fact, Villa had previously expressed interest in him, and they regarded Aghova as a potential successor to John Duran, who was previously sold.

Portuguese media "O Jogo" said that any club that wants to sign Aghova will have to pay a sum far more than Chelsea should have paid last summer. Because the player's performance and achievements have doubled his value in the past 12 months. Now, clubs will have to pay up to £85 million in transfer fees - and under the agreement, half of this fee will be attributable to Atletico Madrid.
