Trezeguet: I believe Juventus can win the Serie A title but still need to optimize their offensive combination

October 11th Juventus legendary forward Trezeguet accepted an interview with the media and talked about Juventus in his mind, the current situation of the team, and this season’s Serie A championship.

Which Juventus team do you have the deepest affection for?

Emotionally speaking, the one I have the deepest affection for is undoubtedly the original Juventus team, that is, the one coached by Ancelotti and Lippi in the 2000-2001-2002 season. The most representative one is Capello's team, which introduced many very high-level players at that time.

What is missing from Juventus today?

Victory. I have reiterated many times that Juventus must regain this belief. Tudor has done a great job, but the players also need to understand where they are, even though they have started well. The final judgment won't be made until the end of the season, though.

How do you evaluate Juventus’ forwards?

Openda and Jonathan David must understand that the Italian league is completely different in mentality, system and tactical philosophy from the league they played in before. Vlahovic needs to prove his strength again, because Juventus continues to wait for him. Defensively, Tudor has managed to find the right balance, but offensively, the team is still looking for the right mix. Juventus has difficulty scoring goals, and the forward selection often changes. This is the reality today.

Do you think Juventus can win the Serie A championship this season?

I believe Juventus can win the championship. This is a very competitive league, and the Bianconeri are in the title race. There have been no surprises so far, and all the top teams are at the forefront. But Juventus must be aware of this desire to compete for titles and I believe Tudor knows exactly what it takes to win titles.

What do you think of AC Milan and Como playing in Australia?

Modern football has undergone tremendous changes. On the one hand, bringing a Serie A game to Australia is a great thing and will undoubtedly be fantastic for Australians. But on the other hand, economic factors have once again become the protagonist. Only after the game is over will we know if it was a good decision.
