Official: Former Barcelona chairman Rossel was acquitted for 645 days in prison and received 230,000 euros in state compensation

Russel once claimed 29.7 million euros from the state to make up for the moral and economic losses caused by pre-trial detention. However, the national court ruled that Rossell should receive 232,500 euros in compensation for his 645 days of pre-trial detention from May 2017 to February 2019.
Russel was accused of participating in criminal organizations and money laundering at the time, involving commissions for Brazil's national team competitions and funding operations for a sports brand contract, but was eventually acquitted.
The court specifically approved the compensation amount: EUR 50,000 in moral damage; EUR 120,000 in losses of expected profits caused by termination of contract with EY; Family travel expenses of 62,500 in prison, totaling 232,500 in total.
