Little Bee official: 20-year-old midfielder Milanbo suffered ACL in the Dutch national youth game and was retired for the season.

Hupu News on October 15th Brentford released an official statement.

Midfielder Anthony Mirambo will miss the remainder of the season due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during an international match.

The 20-year-old Milanbo was injured in the Netherlands U21 national team's match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday. The midfielder was in obvious pain and was taken off the pitch on a stretcher.

Brentford confirmed on Wednesday that Mirambo will undergo surgery and continue rehabilitation for the remainder of the season.

Milanbo moved to Brentford from Feyenoord this summer and signed a five-year contract with an option to extend for 12 months.

He has made three appearances in all competitions, starting in Brentford's two League Cup wins and starting 45 minutes in the opening Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest of the season.

The Dutch youth international either came on as a substitute or was left out of the matchday squad in Brentford's subsequent six top-flight games.

Milanbo joined Brentford after a productive season at Feyenoord, where he made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists.

Brentford will face West Ham United on Monday.

Keith Andrews' side have won two of their first seven games in the Premier League and are currently ranked 16th in the league.
