October 19th After Fulham lost 0-1 to Arsenal at home, head coach Marco Silva accepted an interview. He analyzed the game, talked about the reasons for the goal conceded, and responded to rumors about the Nottingham Forest coaching job.
How do you evaluate this game?
It's always disappointing when you lose a game. They (Arsenal) are at a very high level. We also created scoring chances before Arsenal scored. We knew it wasn't going to be an easy game and they were a tough opponent, but I thought we kept them away from big scoring chances in the game. After conceding the goal, we reacted and started playing more our way again.
What do you think about Gabriel's decisive goal?
Gabriel jumped so high that it was impossible to guard against him. This is very difficult to control. We tried to block his path and for most of the game we did a really good job. But (at that moment) we were positioned too far and left a path for Gabriel. We didn’t want him to run up in that area. Any header pass from the back point is very difficult to control.
How do you evaluate Raul Jimenez’s performance tonight?
It is vital for us to have him. In the past two games, we have played without any forwards. Last season our forwards scored over 20 goals. Raul didn't score tonight, but he had a great attitude. In addition, Anderson was injured and Cairney also encountered some problems.
Regarding rumors about your relationship with Nottingham Forest
I focus on the game and the things I can control. Nothing can distract me from what I want to do.
