May 21, Manchester City midfielder De Bruyne talked to Sky Sports about his feelings during his last game at the Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne: "It feels a little weird, I don't know how to say it. The decade spent here is simply incredible, it's an incredible journey, it's stressful, and I don't know how to describe it. I want to bring happiness to people, play offensive football, be creative, that's how I'm on the court, and I want to have fun. I think we have a lot of fun in this decade. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. It's a joy to work hard for the club and create something to make the club better than before, and I'm very proud."
On his missed opportunity: "I just need to run there, the opportunity will come, it's awful that's not scoring, there's no excuse. My son will be very harsh on me today."
About his favorite moments: "I think life and career are a journey. There are so many highs and lows, you have to go through these moments and enjoy it. Every moment I enjoy it very much and learn from bad moments, which is really great."
About what he said to Manchester City fans: "I don't know what to say, they welcomed me from the beginning. The almost full stadium supports me and my family, which says it all. Who can have 50,000 people waiting for you to say goodbye? It's indescribable, thank you very much."
About his statue: "It means I will always be part of this club. I always represent a small part of it, and whenever I come back, with these guys, family and friends, I can see myself standing around the court. I will always be here."
"I think the best way to describe my life with my wife and my three children is that we fit in perfectly here. We Understanding the club’s development and why this club means a lot to many people. Together, we have built a bright future for you, for the club to perform well. I know this year is a bit tough for us, but I think the team deserves all your support. I know they are pushing very hard and this team will continue to compete for all the championships next year, so they deserve it. I think after ten years, it’s time for me to say a few more words and say goodbye to everyone. I’ll be back, but we love you guys, see you soon.”
