Chelsea cuts prices to sell Nkunku, paving the way for the introduction of Simmons, and many teams in the Premier League Bundesliga are interested in buying

According to authoritative media reports, Chelsea club is ready to lower the asking price for striker Christopher Nkunku in a bid to sell it this summer's transfer window. The French striker expressed his willingness to leave the team, and the club is now willing to bear certain financial losses after insisting on high prices throughout the summer.

Nkunku transferred from Bundesliga RB Leipzig to Chelsea for £52 million in the summer of 2023. At that time, the Blue Army had high expectations for it. However, a serious preseason injury completely disrupted his pace, causing him to never find his form. Last season, Nkunku failed to shake Nicholas Jackson's main center position in the team competition. This situation attracted the attention of many wealthy families in the January transfer window this year. Bayern Munich and Manchester United both expressed their interest, but eventually gave up because of Chelsea's asking price of £65 million at the time.

Latest news shows that Chelsea's attitude has changed. According to The Athletic, the club is currently willing to accept an offer of about £43.3 million. This change has rekindled the European club's interest in Nkunku. It is reported that Manchester United still appreciates the player, and Bayern Munich has also rekindled interest. In his last two Bundesliga seasons at RB Leipzig, Nkunku delivered impressive statistics of 36 goals and 21 assists.

Chelsea actively sought to sell Nkunku, with the main purpose of making room and funds for the introduction of new attackers. Although the Blues have signed Joao Pedro, Liam Drapp and Jamie Gitins this summer and finalized the transfer of Palmeiras star Estewan, club executives still hope to bring at least one more attacking line player.

At present, the hottest target for signing is Dutch star Xavi Simmons (substituting Nkunku to join RB Leipzig in 2023). However, Chelsea needs to raise transfer funds first by selling players. Nkunku is not the only attacker who may leave the team. Another one to be on the sale list by Chelsea is Portuguese striker João Felix. According to reports, Portugal (reported to be the former club Benfica) and Saudi professional league clubs have interest in transfers. Felix's price is also priced at £43.3 million.
