June 17th, Benfica drew 2-2 with Boca Youth in the first round of Group C of the Club World Cup. After the game, Benfica coach Brano Lager attended the press conference.

What is the analysis of Benfica's performance in the first game of the Club World Cup? Especially in the final stage, the team scored one point without one player and two goals behind.

"We started off well and could have won the game, but we were at least able to equalize the score. Benfica deserves the victory, and I say again, we created a chance to win. There was only 5 minutes of stoppage time in the second half, but that was the scale of the referee's penalty for the game. The referee basically didn't run much, but that's how he decided."

Otamendi scored a 2-2 equalizer. Satisfied with the team's response?

"I had a conversation with the team during the break. I told the players that more people needed to enter the penalty area, someone needed to insert the gap in the ribs, and we had to play the characteristics of our sports offense. We did it. We kept letting the backcourt players go forward to participate in the offense. I think we could have won the game."

Cockku came on as a substitute in the second half, but he was a regular starter

"Did you see how Cockku played? His groin and ankles were bandaged. We also sent Akturkogru to seek different opportunities, and I think we did it. Unfortunately, Belotti's red card came too early because it felt like if there were two forwards, we could push the Boca youth further back. Even if one less player was fighting, there was no difference in the scene."
