According to the latest news, Arsenal is about to successfully retain the core of the team-English winger Bukayo Saka, and resist poaching from many top European clubs, including Manchester City.

Saka will sign the highest-paying contract in team history

According to the authoritative British media "The Athletic", Saka has reached an agreement in principle with Arsenal on a new contract and plans to officially sign it in November.

According to the agreement, Saka's new contract will be extended to June 2030, with an annual salary of approximately 18 million pounds (before tax), equivalent to a weekly salary of more than 350,000 pounds, making him currently Arsenal's highest-paid player. If bonus terms are included, his actual weekly salary will reach between 370,000 and 390,000 pounds, setting a record in the club's history.

Currently the second highest paid player in the Arsenal team is forward Havertz, with a weekly salary of 280,000 pounds. The club stated that giving Saka such a generous treatment is a full recognition of his continued outstanding performance and loyalty on and off the court.

The 24-year-old Saka was born in 2001 and is an outstanding representative trained by Arsenal's youth training system. He is not only regarded as one of the most entertaining players in the Premier League today, but also one of the top wide attackers in European football.

Although giants such as Manchester City and Real Madrid have previously shown strong interest in Saka, he has always firmly trusted coach Arteta and the team blueprint he created. Arsenal's strong performance in the Premier League and Champions League this season has also become a key factor in prompting him to stay on the team.

Currently, the Gunners lead the Premier League standings by 4 points, ahead of second-placed Manchester City; and in the Champions League group stage, they have won four consecutive victories and are firmly at the top of the group.

In addition, another player Julian Timber is also in the process of contract renewal negotiations. Although his current contract is valid until 2028, Arsenal hopes to extend it until 2030 to further stabilize the core structure of the team in the future.
