Arsenal seeks Thomas replacement, his eyes fixed on captain Brentford

As midfielder Thomas' contract expires and the contract renewal is fruitless, Arsenal is actively looking for a replacement. While locking in the core of Real Sociedad Suvimenti, Arsenal turned his attention to Brentford captain and Danish midfielder Nolgao. According to British media reports, Thomas' contract with Arsenal will expire at the end of this month. Although both sides intend to renew the contract, the club failed to reach an agreement with the Ghana international, and Thomas is expected to leave the team as a free agent this summer.
Jorginho has left the team before, and Thomas' departure will further weaken the thickness of Arsenal's midfield. It is reported that Real Sociedad midfielder Suvimendi is close to becoming a successor. The latest news from the Mirror shows that Brentford midfielder Norgao was also listed as a potential reinforcement target by Arsenal.
Norgo, 31, is the captain of Brentford. Under former coach Frank, who has left office and transferred to Tottenham, he performed well at the Gtech Community Stadium at Brentford. Arsenal is believed to be interested in taking action as Brentford enters a new era.
Although Norgou renewed his contract with Brentford until 2027 just two weeks after his 31st birthday in March, his age may make him an economically viable target for Arsenal. However, the player's own willingness to transfer is not yet clear.
Brentford has expected more changes in the transfer market this summer after losing his coach. Team forward Mbemo was chased by Manchester United and Tottenham at the same time, and his forward partner Visa has also attracted the keen interest of many clubs. Against this backdrop, Brentford is likely to be reluctant to let Nolgao go. Unless the player takes the initiative to apply for a transfer, it is unlikely that the club will consider letting go.
Suvimendi's upcoming means that Arsenal's main goal this summer is to find rotation players for the midfield. Spanish international Suvimenti is expected to form the double midfielder of Arsenal coach Arteta's midfield with Rice, and captain Odegao will form a starting trio with them.
Currently, except Suvimendi in Arteta's lineup, the only full-time midfielder is his former Real Sociedad teammate Merino. This situation highlights the need for Arsenal to strengthen the midfield this summer.
