October 11th According to US media Front Office Sports, multiple people familiar with the matter revealed that the WNBA’s latest proposed maximum salary does not reach or exceed US$1 million.

In the plan proposed by the league, the maximum salary is close to US$850,000, and the base salary for veterans is approximately US$300,000. This is a significant increase compared to the current salary level. The current maximum salary is approximately US$250,000 and the veteran's base salary is US$78,000. If the new plan is passed, it will significantly increase the income level of WNBA players, especially the Mesozoic and veteran groups.

The salary cap for each team in the 2025 season is approximately US$1.5 million. If the players union does not choose to jump out of the collective bargaining agreement, the salary cap will increase slightly in 2026.

WNBA officials said: "We strongly agree that players should receive more compensation and participate in the success and growth of the league. The CBA plan we proposed has significantly improved both the guaranteed salary and income sharing. We believe this is a very sincere proposal."

The league denies adopting a "fixed salary model that has nothing to do with income," but people familiar with the matter said that the structure of the new proposal is similar to the current CBA. Only when the league's total income exceeds a certain target value, players can trigger the bonus mechanism.
