Team Note: The Warriors are working hard to retain assets and prepare for the opportunity to acquire Antetokounmpo

Warriors reporter Tim Kawakami published a long article talking about Kumingga's current situation.
At the end of the article, Kawakami talked about Antetokounmpo: The Warriors are reluctant to send Kumingga away at low prices easily: Like other savvy teams, they are trying to retain all their assets - in case the "Giannis Antetokounmpo's trading market" can take action immediately once it heats up.
If you want to build a deal around a young player so that he can directly take over a blank lineup of a rebuilding team, bringing energy and vitality... Then the Warriors do have such a suitable candidate - as long as they can reach a stable contract renewal agreement with Kumingga this summer. Then, each other can look at the future.
This does not mean that the Warriors think Antetokounmpo will definitely propose to leave Milwaukee, nor does it mean that they believe that the Bay Area is his favorite next home. No one can predict these things. Antetokounmpo may never leave the Bucks; or if he finally decides that he must leave the team, he may also want to join forces with other stars besides Curry and Zhu Meng.
But this possibility does exist- maybe one day Antetokounmpo will tell the Bucks management that he wants to be traded to the Warriors. At that time, the Warriors have to see if they can meet the Milwaukee asking price.
Of course, the Warriors are not the only team that has such a plan and plans for it. They are by no means the most bargaining party. Once the Bucks are seriously considering trading Antetokounmpo, other teams may be able to provide more quality assets. But the Warriors hope they can be prepared. And if they can renew their contract with Kumingga for about three years at a price of $22 million to $25 million per year, it will be a very critical step in this bold layout.
