08-12th August Former Lakers' five-time champion guard Fisher just celebrated his 51st birthday a few days ago. Former NBA player Teague also shared an interesting story between him and Fisher on his podcast.
"Fisher cursed me once, and it wasn't a curse, he just wanted to train me like a son. It was my rookie season, and I passed him and dunked Odom on the head. Then I squirted trash at Fisher and said he was a sad ni**er.
"I just talked trash, but he got mad. He asked our assistant to pass the message to me and he said, ‘Don’t mess up all this, I was able to score points before. ’I thought to myself what this guy said? He continued, ‘You have to understand, young people, everyone has to figure out their role in the NBA. Check out my previous highlights at the Jazz and Warriors, I used to be very good at scoring, so don't mess it up. ’
"I thought to myself, I was still rushing to eat hamburgers, so I didn't look at your crappy highlights. But time flew away later, when I reached the end of my career, I thought to myself, that guy was right... When I reached 30, they really only let me squat in the bottom corner, that was my role, and then I understood Fisher's words." Teague said.
