In the second game of the new season, facing last season's playoff opponent Timberwolves, the Lakers completed their revenge with an 18-point victory. In the whole game, Doncic made 14 of 23 shots, including 5 of 12 three-pointers. He scored 49 points with 11 rebounds and 8 assists, leading the team to their first victory of the season.

At 9 minutes and 41 seconds in the first quarter, Doncic broke through with Ayton's continuous screen at the top of the arc; facing Gobert's retreat, Doncic faked a move and succeeded in a fadeaway jumper.

At 9 minutes and 23 seconds of the first quarter, Doncic received a pass from Reeves in the high post and used Ayton to pick and roll on the right side. He completed the shot in two steps outside the three-point line during the gap between McDonough's cover and Gobert's retreat.

At 7 minutes and 17 seconds of the first quarter, Doncic singled out Maidan with the ball, combined the ball at the moment when the help defender was flanking him, and completed a folding drift throw.
