Popovich will no longer serve as Spurs head coach

Upon resolution of the board of directors, Gregg Popovich will step down as the team's head coach and officially serve as full-time basketball operations president, coordinating the team's competitive strategy and long-term development plan.
New head coach appointment:
Mitch Johnson will take over as head coach of the Spurs.
Popovich coaching achievements:
• 29th season coaching career: Set a record of coaching alone in NBA history, leading the team to 1,422 regular season victories (first in history), and won the NBA championship five times (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014)
• 37 years of NBA resume: Since joining the Spurs as an assistant coach in 1988, he has been deeply engaged in the field of coaching and management (from 1992 to 1994, he briefly assisted Golden State Warriors coach Don Nelson, and focused on the Spurs for the remaining 35 years)
As one of the greatest coaches in NBA history, Popovich will continue his legendary influence as president.
