Does anyone still remember Jarrett Culver? On June 21, the 89ers of the Sendai team in the Japan B League officially announced that the team officially signed former NBA player Jarrett Culver. The details of the contract have not been announced, but referring to the salaries of other foreign players in the B League, Culver's annual salary can reach more than one million US dollars, which is a lot for him!

Culver was born on February 20, 1999, in the same 6th show in Zion. He left the NBA at the age of 26 and is likely to never come back. In September 2024, Magic gave Culver an Exhibit 10 contract. After being cut, he went to the Development League. Including the money he got cut by the Magic, Culver's salary this season is about $100,000.

Culver averaged 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1 steal and 1.6 turnovers in the Development League this season, with three shooting percentages: 45.3%, 33.5%, 69.5%. Culver stayed in the Development League to return to the NBA. As a result, he waited for a season and didn't even have a 10-day short appointment. In order to make money to support his family, he had to go to the Japanese B League. In the summer of 2024, Culver played in the summer league for the Magic, averaging 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, and a three-point shooting percentage of 23.5%. I can't even play in the summer league, so the NBA team naturally doesn't like him. Throughout his NBA career, Culver played 144 regular season games, averaging 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, and a three-point shooting percentage of 27.6%.

Culver is 1.98 meters tall and has a wingspan of 2.07 meters. He was only rated as a Samsung high school student in high school and ranked 312 in the United States. During his freshman season at Texas Tech, Culver averaged 11.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, and shot 38.2% from three-pointers. In his sophomore season, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, leading the team to the NCAA finals. Before the 2019 draft, Culver tried out for the Lakers, bounced vertically to 45 inches (about 114cm), instantly attracting media attention. The scout report at that time wrote: "Culver's upper limit Jimmy Butler, and Josh Hart's lower limit." The Lakers wanted to choose him with the No. 4 draw, but later in the big deal with Davis, the Lakers sent the draft pick away.

The Lakers' No. 4 draw was transferred to the Hawks, and the Hawks finally chose DeAndre Hunter. The Timberwolves traded Saric and the No. 11 draw (Cameron Johnson) to the Suns, and then selected Culver after getting the No. 6 draw. Comparing Hunter, Cameron Johnson and Culver's current situation, the Timberwolves have really misunderstood.

Timberwolves wanted to focus on cultivating Culver. In the rookie season, Culver played 63 regular season games for the Timberwolves, including 35 starts. He averaged 24 minutes per game, scored 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.6 blocks, and 0.3 turnovers. He shot 40.4% from the field, 29.9% from three-point shooting percentage, and only 46.2% from free throws. In the 2020-21 season, Culver only played 34 games and underwent ankle surgery and was reimbursed for the season. He averaged 14.7 minutes per game, scored only 5.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists, with a three-point shooting percentage of 24.5%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 60.4%. In the 2021 offseason, the Timberwolves sent Culver to the Grizzlies in exchange for Beverly.

Who else can you think of a high-level rookie like Culver who has not been able to make a shooting?
