The Celtics interviewed Flag, wondering if the Mavericks will continue?

Can the Boston Celtics make a big transfer for Cooper Flag?

Flag is undoubtedly one of the most exciting prospects to enter the NBA for quite some time. The Duke standout looks like a talented player at the age of 18. Dallas won the NBA No. 1 pick last week, though the chances of a first pick were less than 2%. All controversy aside, it was a brilliant turn of fate for Dallas, and their future looks precarious after they traded Doncic.

But what if Harrison lives up to the most worrying thing for Dallas fans, trade it out with the first pick? Well, a meeting in the NBA Draft United show that it is not impossible. NBA insider Kevin O'Connor revealed that Flag was one of the players the Boston Celtics had tried in the NBA draft joint game. The NBA only allows teams to interview 13 players, so it’s fun they make Flag one of them. This means the Celtics see a realistic way to get the first pick.

"I have multiple sources and also told me that the Celtics interviewed Cooper Flag. Now, that doesn't mean they won't trade the top 10. It's fun, at least, in draft joints, the team can interview up to 13 players...it means they have Flag's top ranking to get the chance to interview them. If they do reorganize this offseason, I think it's fun for the Celtics to specifically interview [Frager]."

Nico Harrison might consider turning back Flag

O'Connor continues to speculate whether the Celtics can convince Harrison to give up Flag in exchange for a package involving Jaylen Brown and several draft picks. "Boston called Nico. They offered Jaylen Brown, how many first-round picks Nico needed? I wonder if Dallas and their entire decision-making department would listen." A deal to Cooper Flag, which could serve as a lifeline for Nico Harrison to serve as the Mavericks general manager, is certainly bold.

But one of the reasons he jeopardizes the Mavericks' long-term future by trading Luca Doncic is that he won't be the general manager who has to deal with that future. So Harrison will definitely do that in the end. But what you can foresee is that if Dallas chooses Flagg, please mention that if the impact of injuries is not considered next season, Dallas' lineup is a very terrifying existence in the league. Their starting lineup: Irving, Thompson, Flagg, Davis, and Levley. Flag is an all-around player at Duke University with 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks. But what would it be like if this starting lineup replaced Flag with Brown? We don't know.

But after the deal between Doncic and Davis this season, it is not ruled out that Dallas will continue to make a deal that shocked the league. What do you think?
