Lakers backcourt gate: If everyone hates Redick, that s a great thing

The Los Angeles Lakers conducted daily training during training camp. After the training, the team's backcourt player Gabe Vincent was interviewed by reporters, and he also talked about the championship-level training intensity of the team's head coach JJ Redick.

Vincent said: Just one to two weeks ago, I told JJ Redick that if we hate you, to be precise, if each of us hates you, that means that this is a great thing. I believe that as long as we are united and as long as each of us is consistent in our attitude, there will be no problem with everything. I mean, we don’t like the intensive training, we certainly want to be easier, but our goal is to prepare ourselves for the new season because we are all very clear about what our goals are and we all want to strike the championship. Vincent continued: We are all willing to put in more effort, and we all want to provide more help and support to the team. We also know that we must run on the field and gain more opportunities. Only by making ourselves better can our opponents feel pressure on us and our record will be better.

In the NBA regular season last season, Vincent made a total of 72 appearances in 82 games, averaging 21.2 minutes per game, averaging 6.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 0.6 turnovers and 2.1 fouls. He shot 40% from the field, 35.3% from three-point shooting percentage and 71.4% from free throws. In the playoffs, Vincent made a total of 5 appearances, averaging 19.8 minutes per game, with averaging 2.8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 0.2 steals and 0.4 blocks, 0.2 turnovers and 1.6 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 35.7% and a three-point shooting percentage of 30.8%.

Vincent's overall performance last season was actually quite average, or he did not show his due level. His offensive efficiency was still relatively average, and he could not provide more support to the team on the offensive end. Vincent's performance on the defensive end is of course good, but his figure is relatively limited after all, and he does not have the ability to change the Lakers' entire defensive system. The Lakers' roster has added a good defender like Marcus Smart to the new season, which will also make Vincent's performance in the team a bit embarrassing. For Vincent, if he can't prove his strength as soon as possible, he could also become a potential trade target for the Lakers to be sent away in the middle of the season. In the new season, can he perform better?
