Knicks inside lineman Achuwa becomes free, and the injury and trust crisis remains undecided

According to Knicks reporter Stefan Bondy, the team's insider Achouva is exploring future options as he becomes a free agent at the end of this month.
It is reported that after a frustrating season in playing time, the Knicks inside Achouva "has begun to have a significant change in his understanding of the game" since January this year. Stefan Bondy pointed out that since joining the Knicks from the Raptors through trade last season, Achouva has never completely won the trust of former coach Thibodeau. When Towns was injured, Thibodeau chose to let Jericho Sims replace the starter rather than Achuva; and when Mitchell Robinson returned from injury in March, Achuva's playing time further shrank.
Stefan Bondy mentioned that Achuwa performed strongly at the beginning of the preseason, but missed the first 21 games of the regular season due to a hamstring strain, and has never been able to win a stable role since then. "No one wants to start the season with injury," Achuva admitted, "I played well in the preseason, and the injury directly disrupted the rhythm. After returning, I tried to get back to my form, but I had to struggle with fluctuations in playing time and tactical style. This is difficult for me."
Stefan Bondy believes that although the change in coaching staff may slightly increase the probability of Achuva staying in the team, the Knicks' salary space situation still makes its return prospects doubt. When talking about free market planning, Achuwa himself said: "I need time to think about these things carefully, which is very important. At that time, there will be a professional team to handle the relevant negotiations, so let's wait and see."
