June 8th, recently, Knicks reporter Steve Popper wrote an article looking forward to the future of Knicks players.
Popper wrote: "Ashuwa, of the players who have contributed this season, look the most likely to leave. He did not renew his contract with the Knicks until last summer when all other options were exhausted. Ahuwa and the team were dissatisfied with each other, Ahuwa was dissatisfied with the playing time he received under Thibodeau, and the coaching staff was also dissatisfied with the defensive stability and sustainability he provided.
This season, Ahuwa averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, but in the playoffs, he averaged 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds.
