Curry changes plans for previous offseason

According to US sports media F/W reporter Nico Martinez. Curry said he has less time on the court now, but his offseason work is more focused, more efficient, and built around longevity.
Curry no longer prepares for the season as before, and that's the point. After the first day of annual Curry training camp, the Golden State Warriors star revealed how his offseason routine has evolved over the years. Curry, 37, no longer pursues volume. He pursues efficiency, precision and long-term sustainability, and focuses on factors that really affect his game and body. “I don’t spend as much time on the court as I used to,” Curry told reporters Thursday. "But it's more conscious and purposeful. I'm working on heart rate, foot contact, checking all the athletics and skills related to my game."
37-year-old Curry is about to enter his 17th NBA season, which is probably one of the best yet. In addition to another summer of growth with Butler and Green, he will end an optimized offseason routine that should get him to his best. "So, it's much more information. It feels harder to work, which is fun because you have to get to that level and know that you're still trying to play at a high level as you get older."
The NBA has changed a lot since Curry was drafted in 2008. As Cole recently pointed out, teams have hardly trained as much as they used to thanks to the NBA's modern schedule. While this makes it particularly difficult for young players and growing players, it also means veterans like Curry must find other ways to keep up with the ever-changing NBA landscape. At his age, with his mileage, attention to detail is everything, which is why he has a vested interest in taking care of his body.
As James sets the ultimate example, Stephen is expanding his career beyond anyone’s imagination. Now, heading into the 2025-26 season, he believes the Warriors are ready to compete for the championship again. If Curry can maintain his usual standards (24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists in his career), then this is the first step toward competition. Adding to elite swingman Butler, veteran Green and sharpshooter defender Hilde, this is the secret to success.
Now, when the Warriors hope to end the story of Kuminga’s contract extension, their priority will be to do everything they can to get Curry to the end of his long and prosperous career he deserves. At this point, he is no longer redefining the game; he is redefining longevity. While most players of his age are slowing down or leaving, he is looking for smarter ways to stay sharp, locked and dangerous. At 37, it’s not to surpass the league, but to surpass the league.
This change in mindset may make everything different. For the Warriors, it's an opportunity to maximize the historic streak led by one of the league's greatest players of all time. Curry's new offseason approach proves that he is not obsessed with the past; he is evolving, adjusting, and giving himself every opportunity to write the last chapter in his own way.
If his new blueprint works the way he believes, the Warriors may have a last game. And Curry may once again become the one who takes the charge, not just as a shooter, but as a symbol of the true meaning of perseverance at the highest level.
