May 3rd The Bucks officially announced that the team's core Damian Lillard successfully underwent left Achilles tendon repair surgery today. The surgery was performed by Los Angeles-based doctor Neal ElAttrache and consulted by Bucks orthopedic surgeon Carole Vetter.

Lillard suffered a deep vein thrombosis in his right calf at the end of March, recovered in less than a month, and returned in G2 against the Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. However, in G4, Lillard suffered a tear on his left Achilles tendon and did not play in G5. The Bucks were eliminated by the Pacers 1-4 in a big score.

Lillard was helped out and left the court

NBA reporter Evan Sidery previously reposted Shams's tweet and said that due to a torn left Achilles tendon, Lillard is likely to miss the entire 2025-26 season.

In the 2024-25 season, Lillard played 58 regular season games, averaging 36.1 minutes per game, scoring 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.2 steals. In this year's playoffs, Lillard, who had just recovered from the blood clot, was obviously not in the form. He played three times, averaged 25 minutes per game, averaged only 7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, shooting percentage was 22.2%, three-point shooting percentage was 18.8%, and free throw shooting percentage was 85.7%.
