Does anyone remember Anthony Carter? The 2024 No. 13 Show Devin Carter's biological father, an old point guard who is not easy to mess with if you look at the name.

Anthony Carter, nicknamed "Silly Bird", was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in June 1975. He is 6-foot-1 (185 cm) tall and plays as a point guard (PG, No. 1 position). He was defeated in the 1998 NBA Draft and then competed for a season with the Yakima Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association. In 1999, he signed with the Miami Heat as a free agent and entered the NBA since then. In his 13-year NBA career, Anthony Carter has played for six teams, namely the Heat (1999-2003), the Spurs (2003-2004), the Timberwolves (2004-2006), the Nuggets (2006-2011), the Knicks (2011), and the Raptors (2011-2012). He played in a total of 623 games in the regular season, including 181 of which were the starting opportunities, averaging 19.6 minutes per game, scoring 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.2 blocks. In the playoffs, they played 39 games, starting in 5 games, averaging 18.0 minutes per game, contributing 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks.

As a point guard, Anthony Carter has a steady style of playing, is not greedy for merit, has outstanding organizational awareness, is good at observation, has good reading and game ability, and is flexible in body and excellent ball control skills, which allows him to better create offensive opportunities for his teammates. In addition, he is strong in body, has a good sense of defense, and has a good sense of positioning. However, his offensive ability is relatively poor. He lacks breakthrough ability and average shooting. He has no dessert position. His three-point shooting percentage is low. His main scoring method comes from counterattack layups. He will not use his body during the offense, which makes him lack aggressiveness on the court.

Anthony Carter has not made much achievements in his career, but this does not prevent him from making many highlights. On December 29, 1999, local time in the United States, in the Miami Heat's away game against the Orlando Magic 109:106, Anthony Carter started for 33 minutes, making 7 of 9 shots and 7 of 8 free throws, scoring the highest single-game 21 points in NBA career, plus 3 rebounds and 9 assists. On March 25, 2003, in the Miami Heat's 91:108 away game to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Carter started for 27 minutes, scoring 6 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals, and the 15 assists in a single game in his NBA career. On December 20, 2007, in the Denver Nuggets narrowly defeated the Houston Rockets with a double overtime of 112:111 at home, Anthony Carter started for 36 minutes, scoring 6 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists, and in the last 2.3 seconds, he made a final shot.

In March 2012, Anthony Carter was laid off by the Raptors. He has since announced his retirement and officially started his coaching career in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he served as assistant coach of the Austin Bulls/Spurs of the NBA Development League. From 2015 to 2016, he served as assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings. From 2016 to 2018, he served as assistant coach of the NBA Development League Sioux Falls Sky Force. From 2018 to 2023, he began to serve as assistant coach of the Miami Heat. From 2013 to 2025, he was invited to join the Memphis Grizzlies coaching team as assistant coach. I hope Anthony Carter can officially coach an NBA team as soon as possible.
