The Warriors signed back an old acquaintance with a two-way contract. Is he really a complete relationship account?

The Golden State Warriors officially announced that the team has signed back Pat Spencer, the backcourt player who played for the team last season, with a two-way contract.

Spencer was born in July 1996 and is 29 years old, 191cm tall and weighs 93kg. He was the undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. Spencer played in the NBA Development League for the first few seasons of his career, but his overall performance was very average. But the Warriors unexpectedly offered him a two-way contract in February last year, making him an NBA player. In the NBA, Spencer has played 45 times in total, with averaging 6.1 minutes per game, with averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.5 blocks, 0.4 turnovers and 0.5 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 41%, a three-point shooting percentage of 20.8%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 73.3%. Spencer has very limited playing time in the NBA, and his overall performance is relatively average, and he has not shown much highlights. However, Spencer still won the team's two-way contract for two consecutive seasons, and the Warriors also provided him with a standard contract at the end of last season, allowing him to successfully participate in the playoffs.

In the NBA regular season last season, Spencer made a total of 39 appearances in 82 games, averaging 6.4 minutes per game, averaging 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.4 steals and 0.1 blocks, and 0.5 turnovers and 0.5 fouls. His shooting percentage was 40.6%, a three-point shooting percentage of 22.7%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 73.3%. In the playoffs, Spencer made a total of 8 appearances, averaging 7.9 minutes, averaging 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.4 steals, 0.8 turnovers and 1.1 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 64%, a three-point shooting percentage of 33.3%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 100%. Spencer's overall performance last season was also very average, his performance lacked highlights, and he did not show any special talents.

I have to say that the Warriors really have a special liking for Spencer. Although Spencer is older, has average talent, limited potential and mediocre performance, he is still able to stay in the Warriors' roster in recent seasons. The Warriors still have a lot of room for reinforcement in other positions, and they can also sign some more potential players through two-way contracts. As a result, they chose to trust Spencer and signed Spencer again. I don’t know what kind of performance Spencer can perform in the new season. Can he prove that he is a qualified NBA player rather than a relationship account that everyone thinks is visible to the naked eye?
