June 10: Senegal defender Mamadu Sal joined Chelsea. After signing, he accepted an interview with the club's official website.
Your dream?
"It's very simple, my dream is to win the Premier League and Champions League with Chelsea."
Your Blues Memories?
"What impressed me most was that when Chelsea won the Champions League championship in 20-21, the players Kante performed so well. Of course, I still remember Drogba in the UEFA Champions League in 11-12, and then Hazard's performance. I like many Blues players, especially Marklele, Essin, Drogba, Hazard and other players from France or French-speaking countries. What I admire most is Kante, Lampard and Ramirez, I also like it."
When you played for the Belgian team Molenbeck on loan, you had been teammates with Gusto and opponents with Lavia.
"Yes, I know Gustto very well, and I studied with him when I was in Lyon. I also know Andre Santos and Petrovic. I know some about Lavia, I played against him, and I talked for a while, he is a great person. Before I came here, I talked to these players."
Your father, Papu Saar, was a Senegal international and reached the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup with the team.
"He is of course very important to me, because he is also a player. My father gave me a lot of advice and told me how to do it. At the football level, I am still very close to him."
What does it feel like to come to the Blues?
"I feel good, it's simply fantastic, I've dreamed of playing for such a club since I was a kid. Chelsea is the best club in London, one of the largest clubs in the world and one of the best clubs in England. The club has a great plan for young players, the fans, the team and the home are great, and the club has a long history.
"When I see the team logos everywhere, I feel that dreams become a reality because I used to see the Chelsea team logo when I played FIFA games. And now I suddenly realize that I am here and who will train with whom I will be training. I have a good impression of Cobham Base, it is big and an excellent training center. The people here also welcomed me warmly, and my dream came true. ”
