Italian media: Champions League revenue favors wealthy teams

A new study by "Torino Sport" analyzes how the Champions League continues to enhance the financial strength of Europe's top teams, and Inter Milan has become one of the main beneficiaries.
In Italy, the same five clubs (Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan, Naples and Atalanta) have steadily occupied European competition seats in the past five seasons. 90% of the prize money allocated to Serie A teams by UEFA is divided among these five teams. According to reports, this high concentration of resources has created an entrenched top-level system rather than the so-called financial balance promoted by UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP). The result of this situation is that Inter Milan has achieved record financial revenue and continues to improve its financial situation.
Similar situations abound throughout Europe. In the Bundesliga, top teams such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig take most of the revenue. At the same time, in the Premier League, domestic broadcast revenue and bonuses from UEFA have further widened the “rich-poor gap” between teams.
According to the summary of "Turin Sports News", the final result of this situation is that approximately 25 clubs will advance to the European competition basically every year. Therefore, these teams can reinvest and strengthen, while it is increasingly difficult for smaller clubs to participate in the Champions League.
