July 11th July Walker left Manchester City to transfer to Premier League promoted Burnley this summer, Burnley coach Scott Parker talked about the signing.
He said: "We really only went through a few conversations over the summer. But we were familiar with it as early as Tottenham, when he was a young player at Tottenham and I was at the end of my career, and I knew what kind of talent he had. Walker achieved was really extraordinary and he deserved it. I think it certainly excites me when we had the opportunity to sign a player like Walker, when we could compete like this.
"I think the most important thing I can say to Walker is the challenge he mentioned. Walker faces challenges every season of his career, and the challenges now may vary. But the feeling Walker gives me, and based on how I know him, he will really enjoy the challenges we have here. It will drive him every morning when he knows there is a new challenge ahead.
"There is no doubt that Walker could have had other options. But I think the next challenge for Walker is the motivation that motivates him to move forward. He will devote himself to it and drive us to succeed. Walker's strength and achievements are beyond doubt, and I hope he can inject all this into this young team and lead us further."
