In the Club World Cup, Chelsea's quarter-final tickets against Palmeiras were only 8.17 pounds ($11.15) in the quarter-finals, and some matches in the group stages were even as low as 3.60 pounds ($5). Sources explained that FIFA expects a lower audience because Philadelphia will hold Independence Day events and free concerts that day, and Philadelphia is where the Declaration of Independence was drafted in 1776. Except for the group stage against Flamenco in Philadelphia, which attracted 54,019 spectators, Chelsea's other games were not high. The matches against Los Angeles FC, Tunisia Hope and Benfica had only 22137, 32967 and 25929 spectators, resulting in more than half of the stadiums in Atlanta, Philadelphia and Charlotte.

Several Chelsea fans told BBC Sports that they saw tickets be refunded and resold at a lower price due to complaints caused by the dynamic pricing structure. This pricing structure is common in US sporting events, but it has caused controversy when used in this competition. There are many reasons for low audiences, including extreme heat and thunderstorms, potential lack of interest, game teeing hours for most American fans, poor local marketing, and the initial high-priced ticket (over $200) set by FIFA when the match was announced last December.

Real Madrid and Dortmund's quarter-final tickets start at $183.4 (£134.37), while Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich's lowest ticket price in Atlanta is $83.65 (£61.29). However, tickets for the New Moon against Fruminense in Orlando were sold for only $11.15 (£8.17) after Manchester City and Inter Milan were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The lowest ticket price for the final was originally $732 (£536.31), but now it has dropped to $390 (£285.74).
